TRANSIT! Reborn-Art 2018

“Transit! Reborn-Art 2018” which is held as a pre-event of “Reborn-Art Festival 2019” decided to hold from the summer to autumn of 2019. You can enjoy the Oshika Peninsula through food, art, music and various contents during the period from 8/4 (Sat) to 9/2 (Sun).

 

In “Oshika Village” at Oginohama on the Oshika Peninsula, Re-exhibited “White Deer(Oshika)” by Kohei Nawa won the most visitors last year. Also a new work “Camper Museum for watching the Night Deer” will be on display by contemporary artist Parco Kinoshita who moved to Miyagi prefecture as a trigger as a result of the Reborn Art Festival and became a deer hunter. And a music art piece “CIRCLE of MUSIC in the LIFE” by Takeshi Kobayashi appears in the walking trail of a quiet coast.

The beach’s dining hall “Hama-sai-sai” is open as a dining room where you can feel the activities of the Oshika where many of fishermen are living. Their wives energetically serves taste of the Oshika with fresh sea food.(From Friday to Sunday)

From Monday to Thursday, it will be opened as “OPEN KITCHEN”, which features foods, producers and nature such as Oshika Peninsula and Ishinomaki’s richness.

 

The event of “Transit! Reborn-Art 2018” is only events that you can spend “time only available here” in the fields of food, art and music.

TRANSIT! Reborn-Art 2018 OPENING EVENT @ Oshika village

8/4 13:00 – Seed ball CIRCLE
A workshop that makes muddy baskets (balls) with seeds (seeds) together. In this workshop starting with a small “seed”, we will have fun while respecting the earth that will grow what we eat.
Participation fee: 100 yen

8/4 15:00 Reborn-Art DINING
“Eating Deer given from Oshika / Day 1”
The main event of the opening is a food event by Jerome Waag and Shinichiro Harakawa of Tokyo ‘s natural restaurant ‘ the Blind Donkey ‘. Oshika’s deer hunter Nozomu Onodera brings the deer that he captured over the beach and buries it in the beach for overnight for barbecuing. It will be time to look back on eating, that is life.

“Eating Deer given from Oshika / Day 2”
Everyone eats deep burned overnight on a white beach. In addition, enjoy cooking using regional ingredients and enjoy meals on the beach.
Participation fee: 4,000 yen

8/5 10: 00 Oshika Whale Festival @ Ayukawa
The popular “Nebuta” whale was resurrected at Ayukawa’s Whale Festival!
Yotta, an artist who continues to research in Ayukawa which is a whaling town, will display works as a project kickoff for the next year. In addition, you can participate in the festival of Ayukawa town which was a whaling base such as stalls and stages.

Regional artists and creators, such as spinning wool from Ishinomaki’s sheep and selling “Kokeshi” made in Ishinomaki and handmade goods, open fun Marche for demonstrations and workshops.

8/5 10: 00 Ishinomaki Hop Festival & Reborn-Art Marche @ Oshika Village / Oginohama

Various dishes featuring Hop raised by Ishinomaki Farm whose slogan is “Connecting with the community, society, and nature through agriculture” appeared. Of course, together with a delicious beer ‘Maki-kaze Ale’! OPEN KITCHEN is waiting for cooking that fits beer. Reborn-Art Marche will be held as well!

Reborn-Art Music Week Takeshi Kobayashi BGM for the ART with friend

Experience the finest music surrounded by beautiful nature and art. Masuda Sebastian’s Grand Piano’s work “Microcosm – Melody -” will be set on the white beach of Oshika village. Takeshi Kobayashi and his friends of musician together with that work plays rich sounds in magnificent nature.

Part 1. 15: 00-16: 15 Bon-Bune @ Momonoura harbor
The “Bon-Bune ” that was held in this area 70 years ago is a festival that puts the gift on the small boat made of straw and sails it to the sea at Urabon when the spirits of ancestors come to see the family. In recent years, this festival that has not been done will be revived with local residents and Reborn-Art Festival.

Part 2. 17: 00-19: 00 “Shojin-Age” @ Momonoura Village
” Shojin-Age ” is an event to accompany eating and drinking with people who participated in the ritual or festival. Chef or Takeshi Sato(OPEN KITCHEN) will prepare the food of the Oshika Peninsula. And music live by Salyu and Takeshi Kobayashi will also be held.

8/18 10: 30 Reborn-Art Tour – 1 day Introduction to Deer Hunter
You can be a student for 1 day of Nozomi Onodera (Antler Crafts) who works as a hunter of deer in the Oshika Peninsula. We will see his technique to get the abundance of nature of the Oshika Peninsula without waste. Also, a chef team who also studies from Onodera from all over the country will gather and will do a special barbecue on this day only.
Participation fee: 5,000 yen (tax included)

8/25 18: 30 ~ YUNAGUI Dining @ Genki Ichiba
” YUNAGUI Dining” where various Ishinomaki chefs make one dish each. On this day the chef Sato Tsuyoshi of OPEN KITCHEN will participate from Reborn-Art Festival. Also, Food Director of “TRANSIT! Reborn-Art 2018” Kazumi Fujimaki will provide service guidance.

9/1 Reborn-Art DINING “Picnic on the beach” @ Oshika Village / Oginohama
With directions of Mr. Kazumasa Fujimaki, “TRANSIT! Reborn-Art 2018” food director, local chefs of Ishinomaki gather and provede food such as outdoor barbecue and bouillabaisse at the beach. Whatever picnic experience you like, come and have fun!

9/2 11: 00 ~ Reborn Festival @ Nakaze / Ishinomaki city
With the feeling of “together with local Ishinomaki people”, Reborn-Art Festival presents new type of “Bon-odori” which is traditional dance event in summer in Japan. Major Japanese singers will come for the event this year. Also a lot of local stalls are available to color the evening of the final. Let’s dance together with artists and local people!
